It is difficult for most Canadians to donate a sizeable amount to TCF in their lifetimes. But there is a way and it is called Legacy Giving or Planned Giving.
One form of Legacy Giving involves buying life insurance policies where the beneficiary is TCF Canada for all or part of the insurance policy value. The advantage of this type of giving is that you can reduce your income taxes as you may be able to write off all or part of your insurance premium. With a permanent insurance plan with guaranteed premiums and death benefit from the highest rated insurers in Canada, you can leave any amount ranging from $50,000 up to $5,000,000 to TCF Canada.
With affordable premiums payable for 20 years only, you could choose a plan that suits your budget and with TCF as a beneficiary, get tax advantages that will effectively lower your cost of premiums. With astute planning, we can leave a legacy of hope that will survive us, a sadaqa-e-jaria that keeps on giving long after we are gone.
For example, if you buy a $1,000,000 insurance policy and want to leave half of that or $500,000 to TCF Canada, you will be able to deduct half of the insurance premium as a charitable donation and thereby reduce your premium cost.
