Keep Their Dreams Alive!

At the beginning of 2020, we watched in disbelief as the COVID-19 pandemic took hold of the world and changed life as we knew it! Schools and colleges across the globe closed. For the first time in human history, an entire generation had their education disrupted.

Before the outbreak of coronavirus, Pakistan, the fifth most-populous country of the world, had an estimated 22.8 million children out of school. This number represents 44% of the total population of school-age children. Pakistan’s most vulnerable children may not have been in school in the first place – and if they were, they now may not make it back!

Girls are particularly vulnerable in a crisis like COVID-19. They are usually the first ones to drop out and face an increased risk of gender-based violence or child marriage because of the swelling economic pressure on their families.

TCF Canada and our intermediary in Pakistan are ensuring a safe return to school for all of our students with a strict emphasis on personal hygiene, premises hygiene, and physical distancing.

We have developed our school reopening guidelines in 4 key areas:

  1. Physical distancing
  2. Cleaning and hygiene
  3. Monitoring health of students and staff
  4. Educations students and parents

We are doing our part to support the continuity of education for TCF Canada students. We need your help to sustain this critical work of ensuring that our students don’t miss out on the incredibly valuable educational and social experiences of school.

Help us in keeping dreams alive!
